美龙（龙舟）运动文化协会以中华传统文化运动龙舟为载体，为在德国莱茵美茵地区喜爱运动，热爱生活和社交的华人及对中国文化感兴趣的外国友人提供的一个交流平台。旨在传播龙舟精神及中国文化，丰富华人在莱美地区的生活，传递健康生活正能量。

美龙历史
美龙协会前身为法兰克福美龙华人龙舟队（美龙队）。美龙队的前身“擂鼓声”队（Trommelwirbel）于2008年四月在法兰克福成立。彼时恰逢法兰克福国际龙舟邀请赛正热火朝天的广招参赛队伍。阙文宇和王炜看到广告后在华人论坛以及法兰克福羽毛球爱好者中间招贤纳士。在很快集结了23为运动爱好者后报名参加了5月31日到6月1日的法兰克福国际龙舟赛的业余组比赛。在队长牛力和教练Alex的带领下进行了四次突击训练。并且在六场紧张的赛事后去的了业余组第二名的好成绩。在这次比赛之后，队伍名称正式更名为美龙（MainLoong），并由牛力任美龙队队长。
2008法兰龙舟赛上的意外成功及作为莱美地区唯一的一只华人龙舟队，美龙队很快得到了多方的关注。在2009年得到了法兰克福水上俱乐部(BBF)的友情帮助，进行了更加专业的训练。并且在当年的法兰克福龙舟赛上一举获得业余组冠军的好成绩。一时间，各个媒体被MainLoong这个名字覆盖，包括新华社也对这支队伍进行了报道。在同年六月份举办的Offenbach龙舟赛上，美龙因一次小小的失误而抱憾取得了第二名的好成绩。
在之后的几年，由于队伍人员的工作及家庭的迁移，是的队伍人员的流动性加大，影响了队伍的成绩。但是美龙们坚持团队拼搏精神，在之后2010和2011年的各项赛事中接连获得令人满意的成绩。
2014年初，在停歇了两年后，牛力、阙文宇和夏晨晖等几位老队员重新聚首，感慨当年兄弟情，龙舟情。经过短暂商议决定重新发起组织美龙队，招募新队员，组织训练和比赛。经过一系列的准备美龙队再上征程。龙舟精神依旧在，新老队员齐心协力，排除训练和资金等困难。在德国高级别的Wiesbaden龙舟赛上去的了D组的第一名。在之后参加的Offenbach龙舟赛上，由于大会舵手的失误，抱憾只取得了第四名。但是美龙队再度聚首，完成新老队员交替，新的队伍战斗力十足。在大家的一致建议下，决定申请成立美龙运动文化协会！

The dragonboat team Mainloong was founded in April 2008 in Frankfurt. On occasion of Frankfurt international dragonboat festival 2008 Mr. Wenyu Qu and Mr. Wei Wang summoned in public forums and the newsletter of frankfurt badminton fans group for building an own team to join the contest. 23 interesteds from the Main region were finaly enrolled in the team. On 31.May – 1.June 2008 after six hard races they wan glorily the second in Fun Cup in the Frankfurt dragonboat regatta (the initial team name was “Trommelwirbel” (“roll of drums”)).
This unexpected success made the team much more confident in them. Shortly later “Mainlong” was voted to be the official team name and meanwhile Mr. Li Niu assumed the role as team leader. The vision of the team “Mainloong” was also set up as to combine the sport sprit of dragonboat and the fun as team in social life.
With this ambition, they carried out regular trainnings on the Main River to improve their performance and organized kinds of team event like parties, team ski and jaunt, which helped significantly to build team culture and strong trust among team members.
In August 2008 Mainloong took a tour for Sorpesee to have a team vacation there. Besides they challenged several professional dragonboat teams in the 2nd Veltin Dragonboat Cup and reached the 8th in the regatta.
2009 is the year of change for Mainloong. The team got good reinforcement after several memerbs left. Especially the well-set cooperation with BBF (Bäderbetrieb Frankfurt GmbH) helped Mainloong to improve their trainning in a more professional way. Some team members got also chance to train with BBF’s team together to share their skills and experiences.
However the improvement was firstly recongnized during the Frankfurt International Dragonboat Festival 2009. MainLoong excelled all other teams in the Fun Cup and with big advance wan the Cup on 17.May 2009. Their best time was improved by 5 seconds in 250m race comparing to 2008. And at the first time the name of “MainLoong” were standing in almost all newspapers and digital media on the following Monday. The Chinese national News agency “XinHua Net” has even reported the regatta and the team in sound and image.
A special thing to this regatta was the brand new red Jersey from sponsor. As a phenomenon the team had been hotly supported and cheered by the community during the festival.
MainLoong was also invited by the Offenbach Dragonboat Regatta on 28.June 2009. But with a small technical fault in the last race they got regretfully the second.
